Language

The official language of the Conference is English.
Hebrew is the country's official language, while Arabic has a special status under Israeli law.
Most Israelis speak English, and most of the signposts are in English as well.

Kindly wear your name badge during all the conference days.

A commercial and professional exhibition will be take place during the conference, parallel to the Conference hours.

Weather and Clothing

Israel is characterized as a subtropical region, between the temperate zone and the tropical zone.
The northern and coastal regions of Israel show Mediterranean climate characterized by hot and dry summers and cool rainy winters, whereas the southern and eastern areas of Israel are characterized by an arid climate.

The average temperature in May in Tel Aviv (Minimum to Maximum): 17-28 C° / 64-82 F°.
Dress Code: Clothing is informal for all occasions.

Currency and Money Exchange

Israel's currency is the New Israel Shekel (NIS). We recommend using the local currency,
although most expenses in Israel may be paid with major credit cards.
The current (February 2022) exchange rate is:
1 US Dollar= 3.27 NIS and 1 Euro= 3.65 NIS.
Exchange rates are fluctuating daily.
Most ATMs accept all major credit cards such as Master Card, Visa, Diners, and American Express.

Electricity

Electrical equipment in Israel is 220 volt A.C., single phase, 50 cycles. Some appliances may require a plug adapter that can be purchased locally.

Liability and Insurance

The conference organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss or damage of property belonging to meeting participants (or their accompanying persons), either during, or as a result of conference. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements with respect to personal health and travel insurance.

VAT Reimbursement for Tourists

According to the Value Added Tax (VAT) Law, a foreign tourist is able to benefit from a zero rate of VAT on a vast array of services obtained during a stay in Israel. In addition, a special arrangement exists whereby a tourist may also request a VAT refund on purchases made during a stay. Tourist Visa & Letter of Invitation

All visitors to Israel are required to hold a valid passport for at least six months from the date of entry.
Some participants may require a visa to travel to Israel. Visa regulations depend on participants’ nationality and country of origin. For the most updated information regarding visa requirements, we strongly suggest to consult your nearest Embassy, Consulate or local travel agency well in advance. Please note it is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required. Personal Letters of invitations will be issued by the Conference Secretariat to participants from countries that require an entry visa to Israel only. Requests should be sent on the official letterhead of the Applicant's Company / organization to HGM@ortra.com
